I feel like figuring out how to use wikis in my classroom is like getting lost in a never ending maze of questions. So here are a few concept maps about the orginization of wikis. There is so much out there on the web, I can hardly wait to do so more searching to help me find my way out of the maze.

Unitl next time.....

John,
ReplyDeleteI think it can be overwhelming to use wikis in a classroom. I've also always thought that it takes extra time (time we supposedly don't have) to take kids down to the computer lab and get everything started but ....in the class I'm interning in we do lessons in the computer lab all the time. We haven't used wikis but I'm talking with my mentor teacher about having the kids create one for our current social studies unit. I was thinking that as we learn more about Colonial America we'd build a wiki with our information, much like we are doing in our tech class. I think each group of students could create a page about their colony and as we learn more about the colony they could add information to it.
Anyway, yes, I think it is a maze but finding our way through is part of the fun.
